Okay, so there's the FM114P wireless router/print server. Anyone know why the print server locks up when sending a job to an HP Laserjet 5P via any mechanism other than CTRL-P? No? Didn't think so. Son of a bitch.

It's the same hardware (minus the HPLJ5P) that The Fusebox operates without issue. I call the cable company to get an additional jack installed. They will only take appointments for the last week in February. I don't want it EARLIER, I want it LATER. Throws them for a loop. Can't schedule it. Call back in "a week or so, maybe something will open up in March." Unbelievable. They would have me believe that March 1, 2003 through infinity is booked solid, while a few dates in February remain. I call shenanigans. Oh well, what can a poor Fusebox do beside have another drink?

Least favorite technical items: 1) Nero burning software 2) any cell phone 3) XP send/don't send error messages. Please. Like anybody cares. Pffft.

Drink of the day: Brandy.

Is it even possible for a modern car to throw an engine rod? That seems like a holdover from a dinosaur era, when greasers raced for pinks in a dead quarter mile through some Ohio wasteland. But apparently it is still possible, as that was the diagnosis of the sloppy bearded man...crumbs all over his face...at Pep Boys. And the dealer can't look at it for another 24 hours, the dirty bastards. The car is parked in the lot of a 24-hour market, hiding in plain sight.

On the positive side, my Waifs CD made it here today from Austrailia, duty-stamped and curiously oblong. The world gets smaller day by day.

Top songs about London: 1) "Get Outta London" - Aztec Camera, 2) "Tower of London" - ABC, 3) "London Still" - The Waifs. Sorry to my friends in the Clash, but "London Calling has been bounced. Don't fret, "Straight To Hell" is still tight.

"I got a letter from the government the other day/ I opened and read it, it said they were suckers."
-Chuck D/ Public Enemy - Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos

Even though that doesn't exactly rhyme, Public Enemy could bring the verbal assault better than anyone else in the history of recorded music. I don't care what you say. Chuck D changed the world with a simple word:

"Yes!"

He was the rebel without a pause. Look it up if you're so inclined. Good songs about rebels: 1) "Rebel Without A Pause" - Public Enemy, 2) "Mic Check" - Rage Against The Machine, 3) "Rebels" - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
